Amsterdam is a 2022 mystery, thriller and historical movie written by David O. Russell. The director and producer is also David. O Russell. Amsterdam 2022 is one of the most awaited movies of 2022 by movie lovers. 

In 1918 Burt Berendsen (Christian Bale) is sent to World War 1 without his consent by his father-in-law, mother-in-law, and wife Beatrice (Andrea Riseborough). When he goes to France to fight for his country he meets with Harold Woodman (John David Washington) and they become a best friend. They made a pact to look after each other right after they met. When both of them got injured in the battle they were sent to a hospital in France where they met Valerie Vose (Margot Robbie), a nurse who is quite different from others. She used to keep the shrapnel removed from the soldier’s body and make artistic things with it. Soon all three of them got close and Valerie also joined in their pact. But the relationship between Valerie and Harold was not just of friends. They were at the next level.

After a few days, they moved to Amsterdam, started living together, and enjoy their life to the fullest. But Burt left for New York to be with his wife Beatrice. Harold who was living with Valerie in Amsterdam came back to New York for some reason and got a law degree. 

Fifteen years later Burt runs his medical center where he provides nursing services to soldiers returning from war. One day a lady named Elizabeth Meekins (Taylor Swift) approached Harold and Burt to perform an autopsy on her father Bill Meekins who she thinks was murdered. With the help of a nurse named Irma St. Clair (Zoe Saldana), Burt performs the autopsy. After the autopsy, they concluded that Bill Meekins was poisoned and it is the cause of his death. When Harold and Burt went to see Elizabeth Meekins to talk about the autopsy result, she was killed but Burt and Harold were framed for this murder. Police from all over the city were looking for them. 

To clear the names from this murder case Burt and Harold were trying to find out who hired the hitman and investigating the murder on their own. This leads them to Valerie’s brother Tom Voze (Rami Malek) and his wife Libby Voze (Anya Taylor-Joy). It turns out that Valerie was the one who told her friend Elizabeth to see Burt and Harold about the murder case because they are trustworthy.

Although the movie is full of stars like Robert de Niro, Cristian Bale, Taylor Swift, Rami Malek, Margot Robie, John Washington, Anya Taylor-Joy and many more the movie couldn’t get that much popularity like cristian bale batman, or taylor swift fearless. Most of the audience says it was frustrating because the movie is not concluded and totally disorganized. Some says that despite having superstars in the movie, Amsterdam is boring. The theater is empty. They say the genre of the movie is triller, but the movie is neither thriller nor romantic nor mysterious. The total budget of the movie is 80 million US dollars but till this date the movie managed to make only around 30 million US dollar. IMDB rating of this movie is 6.1.
