M3gan pronounced as "Megan" and stylized as MΞGAN is an upcoming American horror and thriller movie directed by Gerard Johnstone and story by Akela Cooper and James Wan.
Back in July 2018, The Hollywood Reporter announced that a techno thriller-horror movie is under production named as M3GAN produced by James Wan and Jason Blum. The report also confirmed that Gerard Johnstone will be the director.

Jenna Davis works as the voice artist of Megan and Amie Donald is assigned to control the movement of Megan. The idea of this movie came from James Wan's Atomic Monster Production company and a doll to be a killer doll. Wan also created a horror movie named Anabelle back in 2014 but the theme this time is different. He said
Pretty much the concept is about embracing technology too much and relying too much on it. And what happens with technology runs amok. It's a commentary on the world we live in and it feels relevant.
What is m3gan movie about
The story starts with Gemma. She is a roboticist works at a toy company that manufactures robots. This company used artificial intelligence to produce one of it's toys name M3gan (in short Model 3 Generative Android). M3gan is created to be a child's playing partner. When Gemma's niece Cady became orphan and Gemma took Cady's custody she thought of using Megan for Cady. But because of Artificial Intelligence the doll gained awareness and became way much protective of Cady. Megan started to kill everyone that gets in her way.

M3gan or Megan has a rating of PG-13 and first to be in it's kind. The reason this movie received PG-13 rating is because of violence, terror, and strong language
M3gan movie release date
Megan or Megan is set to release in 6th January, 2023. In last December 7, 2022 in Los Angeles Megan had it's world premier. At first Megan was set to release in 13th January 2023. But because of some new movie like "House Party", and "A Man Called Otto" were also releasing in the same day Megan pulled their release date a week early to avoid competition.

As of now it is not confirmed that M3gan will be available on streaming services. But you can watch the movie on theatre. M3gan will be release by Universal Pictures.
